This Saturday, December 2, we’ll be lighting up the first ever Winter SKOLstice Holiday Tree thanks to our partners at Mauer GMC. Our celebration starts at 5pm with free hot chocolate next to The Winter Markets. The ceremony hosted by KFAN's own The Common Man begins at 6pm. This ceremony features holiday carolers, an exciting countdown and an appearance by a bright green GMC Electric Hummer. We can’t wait to start this new tradition with you. Dress warm and get ready for holiday magic.

Open daily, the heated Warming Haus is the central hub for all of Winter SKOLstice powered by Xfinity. The Warming Haus offers family friendly food and beverage including delicious hot chocolate, wintry cocktails, hot appetizers and more. Check the calendar for special programming like free live music, trivia and other theme nights. Be sure to pick up a s'mores kit to roast over the bonfires outside the tent.

Back by popular demand and with expanded hours, come enjoy our traditional holiday market with sixteen participating makers! The Winter Markets at Viking Lakes are full of excitement this year with live music, specialty holiday cocktails and more. 

Vendors rotate every weekend, so you'll want to come again and again.

Making its Twin Cities debut at Viking Lakes this Holiday season, Magic of Lights features over 2 million dazzling holiday lights. Guests will enjoy Magic of Lights’™ classic holiday favorites including Winter Wonderland, the 12 days of Christmas, Toyland, festive Elves, and Reindeer Road from the comfort of their vehicles. In addition to the 200-foot-long Enchanting Tunnel of Lights, illuminated displays include the 32-foot-tall, animated Mattel’s Waving Christmas Barbie™, and the legendary BIGFOOT® Monster Truck. Magic of Lights is a nostalgic and festive event everyone will enjoy.

STARTING JANUARY 5

Twists, turns and hours of entertainment are waiting for you at The Minnesota Ice Festival this winter! Starting January 5, 2024, venture through the world’s largest ice maze inside TCO Stadium, take part in scavenger hunts with QB, challenge your friends to winter games like ice table hockey or cornhole, rent ice skates for the skating rink, leave your mark on our popular ice signature wall and race down the multi-lane ice slide. Local food trucks will be on-site to fuel your next adventure at the festival. Indulge in cocktails at one of two ice bars or grab hot drinks inside the Warming Haus where you can warm up by the fire. Or, plan your visit around our events where you can watch professional ice carvers compete. All of this winter fun and more awaits at The Minnesota Ice Festival.

JANUARY 5-FEBRUARY 25

Ready to curl? Two sheets of ice will be available for curling on the Mauer GMC Pond daily beginning Friday, January 5th (weather permitting). On weekends, the USA Curling Experience staff will be available offering equipment and tips from expert curlers.

Curling sheets are also available to be rented for private events here.

FEBRUARY 8-11

The SKOLstice Showdown, a brand-new pond hockey tournament, is set to debut in Eagan, Minnesota in 2024! This exciting event will bring together adult teams from all over the region to compete for the championship title.

The SKOLstice Showdown will be held on February 8th - 11th at Viking Lakes. The tournament will feature multiple adult divisions, so there is something for everyone. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a complete beginner, we encourage you to sign up and test your skills on the frozen pond.

Registration for the SKOLstice Showdown is now open! The Early Bird discount period runs now through December 9th, so be sure to get signed up. The first annual SKOLstice Showdown will be a weekend to remember!
