With the coldest, shortest and darkest days of winter are upon us, Viking Lakes is warming up with 60 days of activation. We have fun for all ages and skill levels, from competitive sports and activities on the ice to festive lights and a Warming Haus with Nordic flare.

Winter Fun at Viking Lakes

Life in Fresh Air happens all year at Viking Lakes - come join us this winter as we have fun for all ages. Click the activities below to learn more and register in advance.

  • US Bank Pond Hockeyoutdoor rinks on the frozen pond featuring free open hockey and skating.
  • USA Curling Experience: free open curling on the frozen pond with members of USA Curling.
  • Sled/Skate/Sweat: free activities including sledding, skating and outdoor fitness classes at the Omni.
  • Warming Haussnacks, beverages, live music, watch parties and a break from the cold outdoors.
  • Winter Lights: if getting on the ice isn't your thing, walk the winter themed lakes and trails.


Campus Map

Directions: 2611 Nordic Way, Eagan, MN 55121. If coming from the west, take Vikings Parkway to Ames Crossing Road (left at the roundabout) and turn left onto Nordic Way. If coming from the east, take O'Neill Road to Ames Crossing Road (left) and turn right onto Nordic Way.

Parking: Lot A is the surface parking lot on the south side of Omni Viking Lakes Hotel, closest to Kyndred Hearth. It will be free and open to the public daily during Winter SKOLstice.

Warming Haus/Skating: Adjacent to the parking lot, the Warming Haus is just off the sidewalk behind Kyndred Hearth, you can't miss it. Around the back side of the hotel, overlooking the pond, is the ice skating rink setup on the patio.

Pond Hockey/Curling: The north pond between TCO Performance Center and Omni Viking Lakes Hotel will feature both ice hockey and curling. Access to the pond is around the back side of the hotel, down the staircase from the patio and to left on the lake trails.
